Tervehdys, opiskelija! Tarvitsemme apuasi ja mielipidettäsi tärkeässä kysymyksessä. Kuten jotkut teistä jo tietävätkin, Taideyliopisto on tänä keväänä yhtenäistämässä rekrytointikäytäntöjään, ja esitys uudesta professorien ja lehtorien rekrytointiprosessista on akatemioissa kommentoitavana.
Opiskelijoiden kannalta merkittävää esitetyssä uudistuksessa on erityisesti se, että opiskelijoiden asemaa ja vaikutusmahdollisuuksia opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön rekrytoinneissa ollaan vähentämässä huomattavasti nykyisestä: opiskelijaedustajat rekrytointeja käsittelevistä ja päätökset tekevistä elimistä poistuisivat kokonaan, ja opiskelijat voisivat osallistua enää vain opetusnäytteiden arviointiryhmiin (joilla ei ole rekrytoinnin lopputulokseen mitään virallista päätösvaltaa). Tällä hetkellä TeaKissa ja KuvAssa on opiskelijaedustus rekrytoinnin päättävissä elimissä koko prosessin ajan, ja SibAssa on opiskelijaedustajia lopullista rekrytointiesitystä kommentoivissa toimielimissä.
Uudistuksen lopputulokseen on kuitenkin vielä mahdollista vaikuttaa kommenttikierroksen aikana. Haluamme ylioppilaskunnassa ajaa opiskelijoiden etua ja muodostaa mahdollisimman kattavan mielipiteen asiasta, joten kysymmekin sinulta:

Students, do you want your voice to be heard in recruitments?
Greetings, student!
We would like to ask your help and opinion in a very important matter. As some of you might already know, Uniarts is unifying its policies on the recruitment of teaching personnel this spring, and the proposal for a new recruitment process is currently on a comment round in the academies.
From the point of view of students, the biggest issue in the proposed process is that students’ possibilities to make an impact on the recruitments of teaching staff would be much smaller than they are now: there would no longer be official student representatives in the committees that handle the recruitment process and make the decisions, and students could only take part in the groups evaluating the sample lectures given by the applicants (these evaluating groups have no decision-making power). Currently Teak and Kuva have official student representatives in the decision-making bodies throughout the recruitment process, and Siba has student representatives in bodies that can comment the final recruitment proposal.
However, it is still possible to make an impact on the outcome of the renewal during the comment round. The Student Union Board wants to advocate the interests of students and form a comprehensive opinion about the matter. So we´re asking you:
