TaiYo:n edustajisto on valinnut ylioppilaskunnan uudeksi pääsihteeriksi musiikin ja humanististen tieteiden kandidaatti Lauri Grünthalin. Hän aloittaa perehtymisensä tehtävään pääsiäisen jälkeen ja alkaa luotsaamaan TaiYo:n toimintaa 26.4. alkaen. Uuden pääsihteerin valinta tuli ajankohtaiseksi, kun TaiYo:n perhevapailla oleva pitkäaikainen pääsihteeri Ville Sinnemäki siirtyi muihin tehtäviin ja hänen sijaisensa Jaakko Kalskeen toimikausi päättyy sovitusti 25.4.
Lauri Grünthal siirtyy TaiYo:on historian ja yhteiskuntaopin opettajan tehtävästä, ja jatkaa vielä keskeneräisiä opintojaan työn ohella. Aiempaa kokemusta hänellä on mm. TaiYo:n hallituksen puheenjohtajan tehtävästä vuodelta 2017 sekä Helsingin yliopiston ylioppilaskunnan eri vastuutehtävistä.
Helsingistä kotoisin olevalla Grünthalilla on vahva kokemus Taideyliopiston opiskelijakentästä eri rooleissa, ja tätä kautta myös hyvä käsitys ylioppilaskunnan toiminnasta ja yhteisöstä.

Lauri Grünthal elected as ArtSU’s Secretary General
ArtSU’s Representative Council has elected Bachelor of Arts in music and history Lauri Grünthal as Secretary General of the Student Union. He will start his orientation period for the position already after Easter and will begin his tasks on April 26. The election of the new Secretary General became topical when the long-time Secretary General Ville Sinnemäki was employed elsewhere during his family leave, and his deputy Jaakko Kalske’s term is ending on April 25 as agreed earlier.
Lauri Grünthal comes to ArtSU from a teacher’s position and is continuing his studies while working. He has previous experience as the Chair of the Board of ArtSU from 2017 and from various other duties from the Student Union of the University of Helsinki.
Originating from Helsinki, Grünthal has strong experience from various positions in Uniarts community and knows the Student Union and its community well.

I’m looking forward to beginning working and everything to come and cooperating with different parties.”, comments the newly elected Secretary General Lauri Grünthal on his election.
