Open call: Ehdota teosta Vapaan taiteen tila pop up –tapahtumaan Kallion kesäkaduille ja Helsinki -päivään 2026

 Taideyliopiston ylioppilaskunta TaiYo järjestää jälleen Taideyliopiston opiskelijoiden teoksista koostuvan Vapaan taiteen tila pop up –tapahtuman Kallion kesäkaduilla. Kesän 2026 pop up –tapahtumaviikko järjestetään 10.-16.8. Lisäksi TaiYo tuottaa kesäkatujen avajaisohjelman Karhupuiston tapahtumalavalle Helsinki-päivänä 12.6.2026. 

 

Ohjelmakokonaisuuden osaksi ehdotettu teos voi olla esimerkiksi näyttely, tilasidonnainen taideteos, konsertti, esitys, kurssi tai työpaja, keskustelutilaisuus, julkinen taideteos – tai jotain muuta. Voit ehdottaa valmista tai vasta rakenteilla olevaa teosta. 

 

Teoksen toteutuspaikkana voi olla hankkeeseen liittyvä katu- tai puistoalue tai niiden välittömässä yhteydessä sijaitseva, kaupungin mahdollisesti hanketta varten vuokraama tyhjä liiketila. Kaupungille voi myös tehdä ehdotuksen rakenteista tai muista resursseista, jotka helpottavat teoksen esittämistä hankkeen kohteena olevissa ulkotiloissa. 

 

Liitä hakemukseen 

 

• Taiteilijan/ työryhmän jäsenten lyhyet esittelyt (yhteystiedot, akatemia ja opintolinja, opintojen vaihe, muuta?)  

• Teos- tai ohjelmasuunnitelma (konkreettisesti mitä, missä, milloin, kenelle…) 

• Teoksen esityspaikka 

• Teoksen tai ohjelman työsuunnitelma (jos kyseessä ei ole valmis teos) 

• Ehdotus kaupungille kesäkadut -hanketta varten kevään 2026 aikana pystytettävistä rakenteista, jotka helpottavat teoksen toteuttamista (esim. lava, näyttelytila, ripustuksiin liittyvät rakenteet, liikkuvat rakenteet..) 

• Lista teoksen esittämiseen tarvittavasta kalustosta 

• Teoksen tai ohjelmanumeron budjetti (taiteilijoiden palkkiot, materiaalikustannukset, logistiikka, laitevuokrat…) 

• Mahdolliset teoskuvat/ luonnokset 

 

Lähetä hakemus yhtenä PDF –tiedostona TaiYo:n pääsihteerille Jane Kärnälle osoitteeseen taiyo-paasihteeri@uniarts.fi sunnuntaihin 30.11. klo 23.59 mennessä. Kirjoita viestin otsikoksi Hakemus/ Vapaan taiteen tila pop up 2026. 

 

Päätös ohjelmakokonaisuuteen valituista teosehdotuksista tehdään TaiYo:n hallituksen kokouksessa viimeistään 15.12. Lopullinen varmistus Vapaan taiteen tila popupin toteutumisesta saadaan tammikuussa 2026 Helsingin kaupungin tehtyä päätöksen ohjelmakokonaisuudelle myönnettävästä rahoituksesta. 

 

Inspiraatiota hakemuksen tekemiseen voi käydä ammentamassa esimerkiksi heinä-elokuun taitteessa 2025 järjestetyn pop up –tapahtuman markkinointimateriaaleista ja dokumentaatiosta Vapaan taiteen tilan instagramista @vapaantaiteentila.

Propose an artwork for Vapaan Taiteen Tila Pop-up Event on Kallio Summer Streets and Helsinki –day 2026! 

 

Uniarts Helsinki Student Unioni (TaiYo) is once again organizing Vapaan Taiteen Tila pop-up event on Kallio Summer Streets. The 2026 pop-up event week will present the work of current Uniarts Helsinki students and it will take place from 10–16 August. In addition, TaiYo will produce the opening program for the Summer Streets on Karhupuisto event stage on Helsinki Day, 12th of June 2026. 

 

A proposed work to be included in the event program may, for example, be an exhibition,  site-specific artwork, concert, performance, course or workshop, discussion event, public artwork – or something else entirely. You may propose either a finished work or one that is still in progress. 

 

The venue for the work may be a street or park area related to the project, or a nearby vacant commercial space rented by the city for the event. You may also submit a proposal to the City of Helsinki for structures or other resources that would facilitate presenting your work in the outdoor spaces included in the project. 

 

Please include in your application: 

 

• Short presentations of the artist(s) / working group members (contact information, academy and study program, year of study, other relevant details) 

• A concrete plan for the work or program (what, where, when, for whom, etc.) 

• Proposed presentation venue for the work 

• A work plan for the project or program (if it is not a finished work) 

• A proposal for any structures to be built during spring 2026 for the Summer Streets project to facilitate the presentation of the work (e.g., stage, exhibition space, hanging structures, movable constructions, etc.) 

• A list of the equipment required for presenting the work 

• A budget for the work or program (artist fees, material costs, logistics, equipment rentals, etc.) 

• Possible images or sketches of the work 

 

Send your application as a single PDF file to TaiYo’s Secretary General, Jane Kärnä, at taiyo-paasihteeri@uniarts.fi by Sunday November 30th at 23.59. Write “Application / Vapaan taiteen tila pop up 2026” in the subject line. 

 

The decision on which proposed works will be included in the event program will be made at a TaiYo board meeting no later than 15th of December. Final confirmation of  Vapaan Taiteen Tila pop-up’s realization will be received in January 2026, once the City of Helsinki has decided on funding for the program.
