Starting your studies goes better when you take care of some practicalities in advance. Make sure to thoroughly read through the University's instructions as well! Here are some reminders and tips:
✅Accept your study place, register as present, and pay the TaiYo membership fee by 9 July 2026 at 3 pm. Detailed instructions for new students can be found on Uniarts' website for new students., but the instructions for paying the membership fee can also be found here.
Get a place to live. You can get help for finding housing here. Also remember to submit a notification of change of address!
💰Apply for student financial aid and the housing supplement (As a Finnish student). They are applied for electronically on Kela's website, where you can also find detailed instructions for surviving in the financial aid jungle.
💳Download a digital student card or order a plastic student card! You can do this via Frank App's website. Please note that the delivery of the plastic student card may take a little while at the beginning of autumn, so in the meantime it’s a good idea to also download the digital student card.
🚌Check out the public transport in the Helsinki Metopolitan area. Get the HSL app and update your student status on there.
