Electoral Coalition
What is an electoral coalition?
- An electoral coalition is a group formed by two or more candidates, established through an electoral coalition agreement form by October 13, 2025 at 14:00..10.2025 klo 14:00 PM
- Each electoral coalitions can have no more than the number of candidates that will be elected, so in TaiYo's case, the coalition can be from 2 to 15 people
- Each candidate must also indicate in the candidate announcement form whether they have agreed to join an electoral coalition, thereby giving their consent to be part of it.
- Within the coalition, seat distribution is determined using a comparative number system based on the number of votes each candidate receives. The coalition’s total vote count affects how many of its candidates can be elected.
- A candidate may belong to only one (1) electoral coalition. It is also possible to run as a candidate without being part of any coalition.
- If an individual candidate does not indicate membership in an electoral coalition, they are considered to form their own coalition for the purposes of calculating total vote counts.

The Electoral Coalition Agreement must list all the candidates that are part of the coalition. Eachcandidate must also express their will to join the coalition by stating this in their own Candidate Announcement Form or by their proxy representative signing the Electoral Coalition Agreement. If the Electoral Coalition wished to add candidates after they have already sent their agreement form, they should contact taiyo.vaalit@uniarts.fi. The Electoral Coalition Agreement can be amended until 13 October 2:00 PM.
In the Electoral Coalition Agreement a representative for the coalition, who has the right to vote in the election, must be named for the coalition. A vice representative must also be named.

Electoral Alliance
What is an electoral alliance?
- An electoral alliance is a union of at least two electoral coalitions. Joining an electoral alliance is not mandatory for a coalition.
- Within an electoral alliance, seats are first distributed among the coalitions in the alliance, and then among the candidates within each coalition. The alliance does not affect the internal candidate order within the coalitions, but rather how seats are allocated between coalitions.
- All coalitions belonging to an electoral alliance must confirm their membership by indicating it in their coalition agreement form. If a coalition joins the alliance after submitting its coalition agreement, please contact the student union: taiyo.vaalit@uniarts.fi.
