For Student Associations

TaiYo supports its member associations with Association Grants

Association Grants are awarded twice a year: in start of the spring and in start of the autumn. The grant is intended to support the normal annual activities of associations operating within TaiYo. In addition to apply funding for their yearly normal activities, organizations can also apply for a project grant, which is open to all TaiYo members for larger individual projects.

Academy Committee Grants are for the TaiYo's three academy related committees: SibA, TeaK and KuvA Commettee.

TaiYo's Board decides the grants based on the applications arrived during the application period and following the guidelines written in the TaiYo Commettee and Association Bylaw. (link).

Twice a year awarded grants during the year 2025:

  • To Project Grants are given all together 3000€
  • To Association Grants are given all together 1000€

Hello association! Check these instructions when you are applying for the grant:

  • Attach to your application your associations action plan for the year in question, as well as the budget plan and information about the accosiations's current financial situation. In the action plan, the association explains all the things it is planning to do during the upcoming year, and the budget plan shows what possible expenses can be expected.
  • TaiYo distributes grants for the associations normal activities. Clarify and justify in your application what the grant amount you requested will be used for.

Student associations can join to become an association operating within TaiYo

  • Only an association that operates within TaiYo can apply for the association grant. With this we want to ensure that TaiYo's support goes towards the group efforts of the students in University of Arts Helsinki.
  • An association can ask to join to operate within TaiYo by sending a free-form application, which must be accompanied by the association's rules. In the application association must clarify the purpose of the association, its activities and for whom the activities are available.
  • TaiYo supports Uniarts Helsinki's student associations and various student free time organisations. At least 60% of the association's voting members, but at least five, must be members of the Student Union.
