What is student card?
- The student card is proof of the right to study in a Finnish higher education institution. The validity of the student card is updated annually either in the digital student card application or by picking up the academic year sticker for the physical student card from TaiYo's office.
- Student discounts and services can be accessed by showing a valid student card. With the student card you can, for example, use student health care services at the FSHS, and you are entitled to student-priced travel tickets on HSL and VR train services. In addition, you can take advantage of numerous other offers made for students.
- A doctoral student, can also order a student card, and is entitled to some of the discounts, such as student discounts on train tickets.
Where do I get a digital student card?
- The digital student card is a free application that works on smartphones. It serves as student proof just like a physical card. In addition, the app has discount offers and other information for students. Uniarts Helsinki students can use the Fran app or Tuudo app and both can be found in the app stores of smart phones. You can also use both apps at the same time.
- The application confirms the student status when the registration as an attending student has been registered. Open the app and select or indicate your institution. Log in with your student credentials or the student's email. Make sure you always have the latest version of the app.
Where do I get a fysical student card?
- TaiYo:n jäsenten opiskelijakortit toimittaa Frank. When ordering the card, you attach a photo of your face, which you can find more detailed instructions on Frank's website. The student card is valid when you have received a valid academic year sticker on the card. For an additional fee, the card can also be ordered as an international ISIC card, which entitles you to student benefits around the world.

How do I get an academic year sticker on my physical student card?
- A physical student card is only valid when it has a valid academic year sticker. As a Uniarts Helsinki student, you can pick up the academic year sticker free of charge from the TaiYo's office during its opening hours, or you can arrange a separate appointment time by email (taiyo-toimisto@uniarts.fi).
- TaiYo also cooperates with other student unions,and students of universities located elsewhere in Finland can pick up the academic year sticker from TaiYo's office for a service fee of €5 when the pick-up has been agreed upon by email with their own student union. Instructions on how to agree on picking up the sticker through TaiYo can be found on your own student union's website.
New students
- Once you have accepted the study place and registered as present, your student card will become valid at the beginning of the semester. It may not be possible to activate the student card immediately after enrolment if the registration information has not yet been updated in the university's system.
