TaiYo:n hallitus on valinnut ylioppilaskunnan uudeksi jäsenpalvelu- ja viestintäsihteeriksi filosofian maisteri Venla Luukan. Hän on jo aloittanut perehtymisen tehtäväänsä ja vastaa ylioppilaskunnan jäsenpalvelusta elokuusta alkaen toimiston avautuessa jälleen 9.8. Uuden henkilön rekrytointi ylioppilaskuntaan tuli ajankohtaiseksi jäsenpalvelu- ja edunvalvontasihteeri Hannu Jaakkolan siirtyessä muihin tehtäviin elokuussa.
“Olen kokeillut monenlaisia töitä ja hommia, mutta sihteerityöt ovat jostakin syystä aina vetäneet puoleensa. Rakastan asioiden järjestyksessä pitämistä ja muiden ihmisten auttamista, jos siis on pulmia tai mietintöjä ylioppilaskunta-asioiden suhteen, tule kysymään minulta ja selvitetään asiat yhdessä!” kertoo uusi jäsenpalvelu- ja viestintäsihteeri Venla Luukka.
Helsingistä kotoisin oleva Luukka siirtyy TaiYo:on opettajan tehtävästä. Nykyistä toimea vastaavaa aiempa kokemusta hänellä on esimerkiksi Suomen Ranskan-instituutista. Luukan viestinnällisen osaamisen pohjalta hallitus päätti kohdentaa tehtävää myös viestinnän suuntaan, ja Luukan tehtävänimikkeenä on näin jäsenpalvelu- ja viestintäsihteeri.
Helsingin yliopistosta valmistunut Luukka tuo TaiYo:on myös talon ulkopuolista näkökulmaa. “Taideyliopisto ja ylioppilaskuntatoiminta ovat minulle uusia ympäristöjä, mikä innostaa valtavasti. On aina yhtä mielenkiintoista ja jännittävää päästä näkemään, mitä uusien ovien takaa löytyy. Eri taiteenalat, jotka Taideyliopisto kattojensa alle yhdistää – musiikki, kuvataiteet ja esittävä taide – ovat kaikki lähellä sydäntäni ja on mahtavaa päästä näkemään, kuulemaan ja auttamaan uusia alojensa ammattilaisia. Uskon, että tulen viihtymään.”

Venla Luukka elected as ArtSU’s Secretary of Member Services and Communications
ArtSU’s board has elected Master of Arts Venla Luukka as the Secretary of Member Services and Communications of the student union. She has already started her orientation period for the position and will be responsible of student union’s member services when the office opens again on the 9th of August. The recruitment of a new person to the Student Union became topical when Hannu Jaakkola, Secretary for Member Services and Advocacy, will be employed elsewhere in August.
“I’ve tried a lot of work, but for some reason the secretarial work has always attracted me. I love keeping things in order and helping other people, so if there are any problems on student union issues, come ask me and let’s find things out together!” says Venla Luukka, the new Secretary for Member Services and Communications.
Luukka comes to ArtSU from a teacher’s position and has previous experience for example at the Finnish institute in France. Based on Luukka’s communication expertise, the Board decided to focus on the task in the direction of communication as well, and Luukka’s position is thus the Secretary for Member Services and Communications.
Luukka, who graduated from the University of Helsinki, also brings new perspectives to ArtSU. “The University of the Arts Helsinki and the student unions are new environments for me, which inspires me a lot. It’s always interesting and exciting to see what’s behind the new doors. The various art fields that the Uniarts Helsinki brings together are all close to my heart and it is awesome to get to see, hear and help new professionals in their fields. I think I will enjoy myself.”
