Kaukana maailman pohjoisessa, Suomenlahden rannalla, on koulu täynnä mysteerejä ja taikuutta. Tämän aivan jästien nenän alle piilotetun koulun nimi on monelle tuttu, ja nyt, yhdeksi yöksi, Sibelius-Akatemia riisuu naamionsa. Ja sinä, rakas ensimmäisen vuoden oppilas… sinulle on luvassa unohtumaton ilta.
Kolmantenakymmenentenä päivänä elokuuta, kello 17.00 alkaa T-tornin auditoriossa (Töölönkatu 28) lajitteluseremonia. Ole ajoissa! Portaikoilla on tapana liikuskella. Lajitteluseremoniasta lähdette uusien luokkatovereidesi kanssa vuoden ensimmäisille oppitunneille. Kenties aloitatte taikajuomien teolla, jossa opitte sekoittamaan tavallisia ja vähän epätavallisempiakin aineksia yhteen ja taivuttamaan luontoa tahtonne mukaan. Ehkä aloitatte lentotunnilla, jolla opitte lentämään ilman halki, kaukana maan yläpuolella. Tai kenties harjoittelette kaksintaistelua, jossa opitte dominoimaan vihollisianne älyllä ja loitsujen hallinnalla.

Deep in the icy north, nestled close to the Arctic circle, is a school of magic and mystery. Hidden in plain sight with a name known to many, for one night a year, the Sibelius Academy casts off its façade. And you, dear first year… You are in for a night you will never forget.
At 17.00 on the 31st day of the Month of August, we will hold our sorting ceremony in the Auditorium of T-tower (Töölönkatu 28). Be on time! The staircases like to change. From there, you will go on to your first classes of the year. Perhaps you start with potions, where you’ll learn the correct combination of ingredients to bend nature to your desires. Maybe you start with flying lessons, where you’ll race through the air, soaring far above the world below. Perchance you’ll learn to duel, to dominate your enemy with your wit and control. Regardless where you begin, you will end the night 10 times the magic user you were.
Come dressed in your finest robes!

Kun kuu nousee ja yö alkaa klo 21 jälkeen, vanhemmatkin velhot ja noidat ovat tervetulleita mukaan The Block -baariin (Fredrikinkatu 53) viettämään hurjaa iltaa. Pukeutukaa hienoimpiin viittoihinne!
As the evening wraps up, older witches and wizards are welcome to join us at “The Block” (Fredrikinkatu 53) after 21.00 for the best night of the year. Come dressed in your finest robe!
