Avoin kirje Taideyliopistolaisille

Hallituksen suunnittelemat koulutusleikkaukset uhkaavat tehdä peruuttamatonta vahinkoa Suomen tulevaisuudelle. Taideyliopiston ylioppilaskunnan (TaiYo) hallitus ja jaostot kannustavat kaikkia koulutuksen ja sivistyksen ystäviä näyttämään Suomen hallitukselle, että vastustamme koulutusleikkauksia. TaiYo kutsuu kaikki tulemaan ensi tiistaina Senaatintorille, jossa järjestetään mielenilmaus koulutusleikkauksia vastaan. Suomen sivistys- ja kulttuuripolitiikka tarvitsee meitä Taideyliopistolaisia!
Hallitus on leikkaamassa toimikaudellaan koulutuksesta yhteensä kolme miljardia euroa, joka heikentää varhaiskasvatusta, peruskoulua, toisen asteen koulutusta sekä korkea-asteen koulutusta. Meidän täytyy yhdessä puolustaa yhteiskuntamme tulevaisuutta, lasten ja nuorten mahdollisuuksia ja sivistyksen oikeudenmukaisuutta. Kukaan muu ei sitä meidän puolestamme tee.
Mielenilmaus järjestetään tiistaina 1.12.2015 klo 13 alkaen Senaatintorilla. Klo 13.30 alkaa järjestäytyminen marssiin Pohjois-Esplanadille, Mannerheimintielle ja Aleksanterinkadulle.
- Kuvataideakatemialta on lähdössä marssi Vallilasta Senaatintorille klo 12.
- Sibelius-Akatemialta lähtee marssi lähtee Musiikkitalon Haukipatsaalta klo 12.
- Teatterikorkeakoulun marssi kokoontuu TeaKin torilla klo 12 ja lähtee siitä Senaatintorille.
Toivotamme myös kaikki tervetulleiksi Senaatintorille joko suurempina ryhminä tai yksittäin.

Open letter to the people of the University of the Arts
The Finnish Government is planning cuts to education that threaten to irrevocably harm the future of Finland. The board and divisions of the Student Union of the University of the Arts (ArtSU) entreat every friend of education and culture to show the Finnish Government that we oppose these cuts. ArtSU invites everyone to come to Senate Square next Tuesday, where a demonstration against the cuts will be held. The cultural and educational politics of Finland need us, the people of the University of the Arts!
This government is cutting education for three billion euros during the next years. These cuts will strike deep into early education as well as into comprehensive, secondary and higher education as well. We must stand together for the future of our society, for the possibilities of our children and youth and for the equity of our civilization. No one else will stand, if we do not.
The demonstration will be held Tuesday, 1st of December at the Senate Square beginning at 1 PM. At half past one preparations will start for a march through Pohjois-Esplanadi, Mannerheimintie and Aleksanterinkatu.
- There will be a march starting at the Academy of Fine Arts at Vallila. The Kuva march will start at noon.
- The Sibelius Academy march will start from the Music House Pike Statue at noon.
- The Theatre Academy march will assemble at Teak tori (square) at noon and go to the Senate Square.
We welcome everyone to come to the Senate Square, either in larger groups or singly.
