TaiYo's Representative Council has elected Master of Arts Jane Kärnän as the new Secretary General of the University of the Arts Student Union (TaiYo). She will start in her position in August and the current Secretary General Lauri Grünthal will continue to other tasks n in mid-August.
Kärnä joins TaiYo from AGMA, the Association of Agents and Managers in Creative Industries of Finland. Kärnä graduated from the University of Helsinki, majoring in theatre studies, and she also studies communication sciences and human resource management at the University of Vaasa. Kärnä worked as TaiYo's community coordinator in 2021–2022 and has broad and diverse experience in different areas of student union activities as well as in the arts and culture field.
