Kaarlo Hilden, Rector of Uniarts Helsinki, stated at the Rector's morning coffee on 20.5. that the University will continue funding Vapaan Taiteen Tila (VTT) until the end of 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uniarts Helsinki's Student Union (TaiYo) thanks the Rector and those students and staff members who have participated in the discussion on the future of the space in different ways. The reservations made in VTT's calendar for autumn 2024 can now be implemented in peace.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the summer and autumn of 2024, TaiYo will negotiate with Uniarts Helsinki on extending the funding of the space until the end of 2026. In 2025-2026, TaiYo will continue its work to find new funding partners and discuss the development of VTT's concept. TaiYo is ready to amend VTT's terms of use for a transitional period so that the role of the space as part of Uniarts Helsinki's basic operations becomes even more clearly visible.<\/span><\/p>\n

TaiYo has also discussed VTT's future with the City of Helsinki. We are looking forward to the progress of projects related to the cultural use of the city's empty premises during the current year.<\/span><\/p>\n

TaiYo encourages students to participate in VTT's activities and discuss the future of the space. During the summer and autumn, we can expect another calendar full of projects by students and alumni of different academies, to which Uniarts Helsinki students have free admission.<\/span><\/p>\n
