TaiYo:n edustajisto on valinnut hallituksenmuodostajaksi Viivi Tigerstedtin. H\u00e4n muodostaa hallituksen muista hakijoista, ja edustajisto nimitt\u00e4\u00e4 uuden hallituksen joulukuun alussa.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The board manages the operations and daily life of the Student Union. It is an advocate of the student that organises events, communicates with our university and students and represents the students outside the university. During terms, the board usually meets once a week and the board members also do some independent work outside the meetings. The board includes 6\u201310 members including the Chairperson, and at least one member is chosen from each academy that has more than one candidate. The term of the board is one calendar year.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The task of the board is to function on behalf of students at Uniarts Helsinki. It builds cooperation between the academies by organising different events, such as parties and debates, and discusses topical things concerning students with the university administration. Through the National Union of University Students in Finland, the board also has an impact on the position of students on a national level. In addition, it brings a cross-disciplinary student perspective to arts policy questions. The Chairperson of the Board manages the Student Union together with the Secretary General, is in charge of the board\u2019s operation and represents the Student Union, both within the university and in public.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
Board work does not require any specific previous experience of the Student Union or other student organisations; interest in board work is enough. In exchange for working on the Board of the Student Union, you will gain experience of advocacy work, organisational activity and administration, i.e. the structures of Uniarts Helsinki and of society. During the year, board members may, for example, find themselves standing on a stage or having coffee with key current and future decision-makers. You yourself can determine what your work in the board will consist of. If you want to find an activist within you, then a year on ArtSU\u2019s board offers a great opportunity to do so!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
The workload of board members is designed so that being on the board is possible alongside studies. The Chairperson\u2019s task requires approximately half a day\u2019s commitment for the whole year, and the task of other board members requires a few hours\u2019 work per week. The Chairperson receives proper reward for the task, and other board members are also paid lower compensation. Orientation is organised for the task, and alongside the board, the daily operation of the Student Union is also run by the Secretary General and the Secretary for Member Services and Interest Advocacy. In principle, the board is required to commit to the task for the whole year of 2023.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
