Vapaan taiteen tila 100 € reimbursement will turn into 20 € discretionary material support 16.2.2025 onwards
The Uniarts Helsinki is committed to funding the operations of Vapaan taiteen tila until the end of 2026. To ensure that the support amount defined by the university's board is sufficient for the space's maintenance costs, the board of TaiYo has decided to make changes to the space's expense reimbursement practices.
Earlier the groups arranging events in Vapaan taiteen tila had a chance to apply for reimbursements for max. 100 euros. From 16.2.2025 onwards TaiYo will give up the reimbursement and will replace it with a possibility to apply for max. 20 euros worth of discretionary material support. With discreationary material support students might have a possibility to cover expenses and materials that are necessary to implement a safe installation (for example tapes, zip ties, signs, reflector stickers etc.).
The changes in the reimbursement conducts are made to secure sufficient resources for maintaining the space and equipment, information channels, covering running costs as well as the compensation for Vapaan taiteen tila working group that’s planning the structural change of the space. The goal of changing the reimbursement practices is to secure active and free of charge event space for Uniarts students and fresh alumni.
